My first book was a natural history and trail guide to the Oak Creek Canyon area in north-central Arizona.  It went through several printings and editions finally culminating in the large format Red Rock—Sacred Mountain.  All are out-of-print but occasionally found in used-book stores.

One of my favorite topics is the Grand Canyon.  So far 6 books, 2 videos, 1 booklet, and numerous articles have been published.  See my Home Page for the most recent book.  Also, check out www.naturepods.com for a personal tour guide to Grand Canyon National Park that you can download to your iPod or mp3 player.

One of my best sellers has been Hiking Arizona, which has been updated and revised over the last 20 years.  Local writer Bruce Grubbs and I put it together initially as a lark, not dreaming that it would become so popular.

The Hole-in-the-Rock Trail located in southern Utah.  It is a slight departure from my usual genre of natural history.  But this historic route has fascinated me for years.  The pioneers who undertook this journey thought the trip would only last a few weeks...it took 6 months!  This was the last major wagon train in North America and probably the only one to go west to east.
